
Under the patronage of the President of the University of Basrah, Prof. Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kadhem Al-Asadi, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Education for Women, Asst. Prof. Dr. Amal Mohammed Abdul Kareem, the college organized a seminar entitled “Inspirational Experiences of Distinguished Iraqi Women” as part of the Global Entrepreneurship Week activities organized by the Technology Incubator Unit in cooperation with the University’s Technology Incubator Division.
The seminar aimed to highlight the vital role of Iraqi women as role models in leadership, creativity, and community development, encouraging students and staff to learn from successful experiences and foster a culture of excellence and innovation.
The session, presented by Dr. Hanaa Abdul Nabi, featured success stories of Iraqi women who overcame obstacles to achieve leadership positions and establish development projects in social, academic, and humanitarian fields. Additionally, international trainer Dunia Asaad Issa shared her personal journey and the challenges she faced as an ambitious woman striving for success.
Moreover, Dr. Rafeef Al-Riyahi showcased several inspiring Arab and Iraqi female figures, including Zaha Hadid, Dr. Sanha Balqis, Mufida Abdul Rahman, Amal Alamuddin, Tawhida Ben Sheikh, Fadwa Tuqan, Fatima bin Salem Al-Maamari, and Ghada Al-Samman, emphasizing the importance of perseverance and continuous self-development.
The seminar concluded with recommendations urging students to stay focused on their goals and persist in achieving success despite life’s challenges.
