Training Workshop on the Importance of Using Environmental Analysis Tools in Geographical Research

 

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kazem Al-Asadi, President of the University of Basrah,
and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Majid Abdul Hamid Al-Kaabi, Dean of the College of Arts,
and Prof. Dr. Haider Abdul Ridha Al-Tamimi, Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs,
the Technology Incubator Unit at the College of Arts, in cooperation with the Department of Geography and Geographic Information Systems, organized a training workshop entitled
“The Importance of Using Environmental Analysis Tools in Geographical Research,”
as part of the activities of the Global Entrepreneurship Week held at the University of Basrah.

The workshop aimed to enhance students’ awareness of environmental analysis as a scientific tool in addressing geographical problems and to demonstrate the role of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technologies in studying environmental phenomena and analyzing spatial changes.

The training included practical sessions on the use of environmental analysis software and spatial modeling tools, along with presentations of students’ research projects focusing on environmental pollution and natural resource assessment.

The lecturers emphasized the importance of developing students’ research and analytical skills and connecting academic learning with practical applications in environmental geography, to prepare a generation of researchers capable of providing innovative scientific solutions that serve both the community and the environment.
