College of Arts Organizes a Seminar on the Importance of Community and Home-Based Industries in Supporting Family Economy

 

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kazem Al-Asadi, President of the University of Basrah,
and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Majid Abdul Hamid Al-Kaabi, Dean of the College of Arts,
and Prof. Dr. Haider Abdul Ridha Al-Tamimi, Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs,
The Technology Incubator Unit at the College of Arts organized a scientific seminar entitled
“The Importance of Community and Home-Based Industries in Supporting Family Economy,”
as part of the Global Entrepreneurship Week activities held at the University of Basrah.

The seminar aimed to highlight the essential role of home-based industries in enhancing household income and achieving self-sufficiency, as well as promoting innovation and entrepreneurial thinking among individuals, particularly women and youth.

Speakers discussed the importance of supporting small and medium-sized home enterprises as an effective means of empowering families economically, reducing unemployment rates, and stimulating the local economy through sustainable community production.

The event also showcased successful real-life experiences in community and home-based projects, emphasizing the need for continuous training, capacity building, and the use of modern digital marketing tools to ensure the sustainability and long-term success of such initiatives.
