College of Education for Women Organizes a Hybrid International Seminar Titled “How to Plan Your Entrepreneurial Project for People with Disabilities”
Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Muhannad Jawad Al-Asadi, President of the University of Basrah, and the supervision of the Technology Incubator Division at the University Presidency, the College of Education for Women – Technology Incubator Unit organized a hybrid international seminar titled “How to Plan Your Entrepreneurial Project for People with Disabilities”, as part of the Entrepreneurship Week activities at the University of Basrah.
The seminar featured a lecture by Dr. Mithaq Al-Bayati, Director of the Virtual Center for Disabled Women at the University of Tikrit, who discussed ideas and projects to support and empower people with disabilities.
Dr. Sara Ali Shtabela from the University of Jordan presented a paper highlighting the successes achieved by people with visual impairments in the field of training, while Dr. Fadia Yaqub Yousif reviewed the role of universities in supporting small projects for people with disabilities.
Lecturer Wael Qasim Rashid introduced ideas and initiatives that contribute to achieving financial independence for people with disabilities, and Lecturer Marwa Yasser Siwan explained the pioneering role of government institutions in supporting and integrating them into the labor market.
The seminar recommended expanding training programs to include people with disabilities in alignment with labor market needs, establishing charity markets to promote their products, and encouraging their innovations.
At the conclusion of the event, Prof. Dr. Amal Mohammed Abdul Kareem, Dean of the College of Education for Women, distributed certificates to the participants in appreciation of their efforts to support this vital segment of society.
